If you arrive by plane

International flights

International flights arrive at Terminal B of Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport.
When you arrive, you should:

  1. Pass through the passport control (for passport control you need your passport with the Russian visa and migration card, which you can fill in on board the aircraft. If you are not good at writing in Russian, you can fill in the migration card using Latin letters as in your passport)
  2. Collect your baggage in the Baggage Claim Area. If your baggage was not delivered to the baggage reclaim area or you discover that your baggage was damaged, please contact the Lost and Found Service whose staff will advise you how to fill in the missing baggage inquiry form. Lost baggage usually arrives at the airport one or two days after your arrival. When it arrives, you (or the University) will get a telephone call from the Lost and Found Office and you will be told where you can pick up your baggage.
  3. Go through the customs (students who have nothing to declare usually take the Green Corridor without filling in the declaration form. You can read about the Customs Regulations on the airport website www.tolmachevo.ru).

Domestic flights

Domestic flights (from Moscow, St. Petersburg, or other Russian cities) arrive at Terminal A of the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport.
When you arrive, you should collect your baggage in the Baggage Claim Area. If your baggage was lost look up the information above.

How to get to NSU from Tolmachevo Airport

This video clearly shows an easy way to get to NSU from Tolmachevo Airport and also from the Novosibirsk Main Railway Station

If you have booked a transfer to the university, a representative from the International Office will be waiting for you in the airport arrivals hall by the exit from the Baggage Claim area (at the airport) and then will take you to your accommodation.

If you have NOT booked a transfer to the university, you can get to the university by yourself by taxi or public transport.

If you go by taxi

It will take about 45 mins–1.5 hours (travel times will vary depending on time of the day and traffic jams). If you speak Russian, it is better to call a taxi by phone in advance (for example, from Moscow). Please contact a taxi service in Akademgorodok:
+7 383 3304646
+7 383 3305050
+7 383 3348888
+7 383 3335555
You should inform the operator about your flight and the city you are flying from, (for example, Flight 107 from Moscow) and the place where you are going to (for example, NSU dormitory). The operator will check your arrival time and call you when you arrive in Novosibirsk, informing you about the taxi car, its colour and plate number (for example, a white Renault, plate number 487). The taxi will pull up to the exit of the terminal. You need to inform a taxi-driver about the place you are going to or give the address (for example, NSU, Dormitory 1a, 4 Lyapunova Str.).
The taxi from Akademgorodok will cost you 700–750 rubles.

You can order a taxi at the airport when you arrive in Novosibirsk (please see ‘Taxi service’, Terminal A). The taxi fare in this case will be more expensive (about 1,000–1,200 rubles).

If you go by public transport

It will take about 1.5–3 hours (travel times will vary depending on time of the day and traffic jams). First, take Bus 111э to get to Novosibirsk Main Railway Station, there change to Bus 8 and go to the final stop called Tsvetnoy Proezd (Цветной проезд). Then walk from the bus stop to the dormitory. It will take you 10–15 minutes.

If you arrive by train

If you come to Novosibirsk by train, you arrive at the Novosibirsk Main Railway Station.

How to get to NSU from Main Railway Station

If you have booked a transfer to the university, a representative from the International Office will be waiting for you at the carriage of your train (at the railway station) and then will take you to your accommodation.

If you have NOT booked a transfer to the university, you can get to the university by yourself by taxi or public transport.

If you go by taxi

If you call a taxi service of Akademgorodok in advance (see contact details above), you should pay about 520–550 rubles. In this case, you should tell the operator the number of your train. The taxi will be waiting for you on the paid parking lot which is to the right when you exit the railway station. The operator will tell you the plate number of your taxi.

If you take a taxi at the railway station, it will cost you 700–800 rubles.

If you go by public transport

Take Bus 8 to the final stop called Tsvetnoy Proezd (Цветной проезд). Then walk 10–15 minutes from the bus stop to the NSU dormitory.

Mind! Never take a private taxi on the street, at the airport or railway station. It will be very expensive and not safe.
