Summer School 2005. Photo Report
Language Summer School, run every summer by Center for International Educational Programs of NSU once again opened its doors for international students,
who came to Russia this summer to know more about the country and familiarize themselves with Siberia and Novosibirsk. At the School the students not only
have an opportunity to study Russian, but also to gain grades for courses, they have chosen.
Summer School 2005 brought together students from South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, the USA, Australia, New Zealand,
Switzerland, Mexico, Spain, and France. Every day they got together to practice Russian and to learn more about Russian traditions and culture.
One of the school’s traditions, favored by students is tea breaks, where one could discuss any topic with other students and teachers.
During tea breaks the students also made acquaintances with students of NSU – members of English and German Clubs of NSU.
The agenda of Summer School 2005 also included significant number of extracurricular activities, such as excursions around the city,
visiting the Museum of Local History, Museum of Gemology in the Institute of Geology, City Zoo, and many other sites of interest.
The funs of equestrian sport could enjoy themselves with horse riding, travelers – with tours to Tomsk,
Altai Mountains,
Baikal Lake
and boat trip along Ob see.
Together with Russian students, the students Summer School took part in celebration of Midsummer Night, and The City Day,
celebrated annually in Novosibirsk.
