The House of Scientists is one of the main public and recreational centers of
Akademgorodok. With its conference hall equipped with the means for parallel
translation, with overheads, microphones, etc. it houses a big number of
National and International Workshops and Conferences held in Akademgorodok. Big
conferences and symposia are held in the big concert hall, which in-between the
conferences provides room for all kinds of music, drama and cinema performances.
The exhibitions of the art gallery of the House of Scientists which is
situated between the two wings of the building is very popular not only among
citizens of Akademgorodok, but also attracts guests from Novosibirsk.
A big variety of clubs, like music, dancing, languages, knitting, sports and
other, offer recreation activities to kids and adults.
The restaurant of the House of Scientists with its two rooms (one in a modern
style, and the other one creating an atmosphere of a cosy home with tables
around a fireplace) can satisfy every gourmand, while the in-door green corner
in front of the restaurant provides comfortable seats for chatting.
