The CIS Network Open University was created in 2009 as an equivalent to the Erasmus Mundus program within a single (unified) educational space of the CIS.
The main goal of the project is to improve the quality and attractiveness of higher education, to strengthen cooperation and inter-institutional relationships in higher education in the territory of the CIS member states. The project aims to organize and implement high-quality joint master's programs, the strengthening of international cooperation in training highly qualified specialists and facilitate the exchange of postgraduate students as well as joint research in order to prepare the candidate's thesis.
The aim of creating the CIS Network Open University is the development and implementation of an analog of the Erasmus Mundus program within a single (unified) educational space of the CIS member states.
The CIS Network Open University operates on the rights of the Consortium for equal partnership of all the partner universities and is open for other organizations to join as established by the Consortium members.
Members of the Consortium are the leading universities of the CIS, Russian-Slavic universities, higher education institutions, which are legally authorized by the Council of Heads of Government of CIS member states as leading organizations for the main directions of cooperation.
