The chair of Environmental Chemistry is unique in many ways.
Training within the main speciality is performed not only by specialists in a narrow field of chemistry, as is usual at other chemistry chairs, but also by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. The team includes chemists in different fields (experts in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, ecological chemistry, biochemistry, soil chemistry), biologists (physiologists, ecologists, molecular biologists, hydro biologists, specialists in microbiology and genetic engineering),geochemists, mathematicians (specialists in mathematical simulation of processes occurring in ecological systems or processes of transformation and transfer of substances in atmosphere and water bodies), economists (specialists in environmental management), along with experts in environmental legislation, environmental impact assessment and environmental audit, that are the specialists in ecological law and management. Only by joint efforts of all these professionals qualified chemists-ecologists can be trained.
