The Department of Psychology was founded in 1999.

The Department trains specialists in Psychology.

Complex of special psychological disciplines is focused on the following practical areas: corporate psychology, clinical psychology and counseling, social psychology, child psychology and developmental psychology, comparative psychology. The training program is performed by highly qualified teachers offering unique theoretical, practical and fascinating author’s courses. The following majors are available at the chair: corporate psychology and labour psychology, clinical psychology and counseling. Graduates of the Department are able to carry out research, practical work and teaching. Today, graduates of the Department work as psychologists and teachers at educational institutions (including NSU), psychologists in various clinics, employees of banks, commercial and consulting companies of Novosibirsk, successful entrepreneurs providing a wide range of psychological services.

Graduates of the Department are issued a Specialist's diploma with the qualification of “Psychologist. Psychology teacher”.

The head of the Department is Candidate of Psychology Olga Nikolaevna Pervushina.
