В статье раскрывается роль парадокса в становлении средневековой литературной сюжетности. Отношение парадоксального сюжета к первичным художественным жанрам - анекдоту и новелле - показывается на материале памятников средневековой итальянской и русской беллетристики. Раскрываются продуктивные для художественной литературы Средневековья и Возрождения связи парадоксального и авантюрного сюжетов.
In the paper the principle of paradox in semantics of medieval literary plot is studied. It is shown that paradoxical plot is one of the main poetical means of genres formation in medieval fictions. The propositions offered are accompanied with observation of Old Russian fictions "Povest' o Basarge" (The Tale about Basarga, the end of XV century) and "Povest' o Drakule" (The Tale about Dracule, XV century). Paradoxical plots of these literary monuments are compared with pre-novellistic stories from "Novellino", medieval Italian collection of fictions (the end of XIII century).
