The Total Dictation fund, NSU and the Institute of Philology at the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences hold the IV International scientific and practical conference entitled "Dynamic Processes in the Modern Russian Language". The conference participants will discuss the topical issues of the modern Russian studies and also the problems concerning the dynamics, variability and codification of rules. Moreover, a series of master classes has been planned for the coordinators of Total Dictation.
The IV Conference entitled "Dynamic Processes in the modern Russian Language" and organized by the Total Dictation fund, NSU and the Institute of Philology at the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will be held on the 3d and 7th of February in 2016.
Over 200 people will take part in the conference, including the leading Russian philologists, representatives of the spelling commission at Russian Academy of Sciences, scientific and public organizations working in the field of popularization, development and study of the Russian language. Moreover, among the participants there will be the Total Dictation coordinators and linguistics experts of a hundred cities.
The conference includes the work of the three scientific sections: Actual Issues of Spelling Codification: Theory and Practice; Computational Linguistics (new technologies in teaching, learning and the promotion of the Russian language) and Russian as a foreign language. The scientific component of the event is headed by a Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics of the Faculty of Humanities at NSU Natalia Koshkareva.
The participants are expected to develop jointly the recommendations needed for the compilation and revision of the textbooks, educational programs and dictionaries of a new generation.
For the coordinators of Total Dictation it is supposed to have a series of master classes, workshops, brainstorming sessions on project management and the relations with the media and public institutions.
— Today the Dictation joins together the coordinators and philology experts from more than 600 Russian and the world cities, and this number is growing daily. Basically, we work remotely, but the conference gives our team a great opportunity to meet each other, feel ourselves as a part of the truly global process. And it is very symbolic that the conference takes place at home of the Dictation, in Novosibirsk and partly in NSU. Since the Total Dictation is a public action, many decisions important for the project should be made at the conference. It is essential for us to listen to the opinion of the Dictation’s team and also get suggestions from the philologists and coordinators. The conference allows the project, built on personal contacts and sympathies, to develop, become better and more interesting, — a graduate of NSU, director of the Total Dictation Olga Rebkovets says.
If you want to take part in the conference, please send an application form.
