The 5-100 project: NSU gets the maximum funding for 2016

At the meeting there were the “road maps” projects presented by the universities, which were selected to participate in the program of international competitive growth in October 2015. There were also declared the results of the program 2015, plans for 2016 and subsequent years.

According to the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Council paid particular attention to the analysis of the results achieved by the universities in the program, as well as their availability of clear development priorities in terms of scientific and educational activities, and also in terms of university management system. Such clear priorities will provide the universities with a strong position in the global academic system.

Novosibirsk State University presented the strategic academic units to the Council. These units are the scientific and educational consortium of universities and they are formed by groups of researchers, conducting the search in relevant scientific areas as well as actively participating in educational activities.

Summarizing the results the Council recommended to the Ministry of Education of Russia to divide the universities into 3 groups, providing each group with subsidies for the year 2016 to the value of 900 million rubles, 500 million rubles and 150 million rubles respectively.

Novosibirsk State University is referred to the group of leaders which is recommended to get 900 million rubles in 2016. Beside NSU 900 million rubles will be given to Kazan Federal University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National University of Science and Technology, the Higher School of Economics, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and ITMO university.
